Irish
Emigrant Video Project
The committee
is pleased to report that they have collected over 40 interviews
with Irish Emigrants of various ages have been collected since
February of 2005. We are grateful to all the people
who have come forward and shared their unique stories with us
and allowed us to film them for future generations. Each person's
story is immersed with first person reminiscences, feelings, thoughts
and insights. Each is a treasured gifts we are
grateful to have in our collection. The
recordings, pieces of living history, are being archived
at the Gaelic American Club in the form of video tapes and/or
DVD’s The
volunteer staff of the project, includes 5 interviewers,
7 note takers and one camera man, Kevin Collins, who finds time
in his busy professional filming schedule to be a part of our
ongoing project. Our
list of prospective subjects is growing. We see no end in sight!
